Blackjack rules

If you have not already tried to play blackjack before, possibly on free blackjack games or other free games, then here is a small review of the main rules of blackjack. Blackjack is not as simple as other classic table games such as roulette. At casinos around the gaming world, it comes in several different variants where there are big or small differences in the rules. However, we give you here the rules of the classic blackjack version also called american blackjack.

The goal of the game

In blackjack, there is a single main purpose: to create a series of cards that together have a total number value of 21. Or as close as possible at all. Conversely, you can also say that it is about beating the dealer by surpassing his or her card hand, but never by passing the numerical value 21.

This is how the game unfolds

Blackjack is a card game between players and dealer, that is, it is not a game between one or more casino players. You are the player up against the dealer who is of course in charge of the cards. The player is dealt two cards by the dealer, which is also called a hand. Depending on how high or low a numeric value the player has on their hand, the player can now choose between three different options:

To stand: if the number value is so good and close to 21 that the player thinks it is a sufficient hand to win. Or if the player simply chooses to bluff by pretending to have a really good hand.

To take cards: the player chooses to ask the dealer to give one more card as the numerical value on the hand is too low to stand. The dealer then gives another card and if you then smoke over 21 you go bust and have lost.

To split: players can also choose to split after getting the first two cards in their hand. This can only happen if the very first two cards have the same value. This gives players the opportunity to split the hand into two hands.
